#MBBChallenge Day 9: #PowerWalking in the Shadows of the Night

We’re walking in the shadows of the night, Sadie gave me her paw, so it’ll be alright, I surrender all my dreams of chocolate and wine, and the bikini bod will come true in the end! (Yep! Queen Dork here)

Day #9: Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015

That is my go-to karaoke song. I used to go EVERY week…. and drink a LOT,…. and feel like crap the next day. And spend too much money. I have not been in over a month. This truly is a lifestyle change!

Today was my first day back to work after having a week off to care for my son after his surgery on his appendix and intestine. He is not out of the woods yet. The doctor  said he needs to take it easy for 2 weeks so we have one more week to go before we can breathe a humongous AAAAHHHH.

My first big story back was one about 80s pop heart throb  Rick Springfield who is being sued by a fan for injuring her with his butt. No joke.And this is not the first time this has happened. Apparently Rick gets wild with his butt cheeks and knocks people out. Then he cries in court. All highly entertaining and makes for lighthearted reading on what was many people’s first day back to work after a long holiday weekend. Click here to read.

High drama ensued later when  some of my Facebook “friends” decided to try to have a political debate with me at 11 p.m. at night after a 12 hour day of work. Ain’t nobody got time for that. Stressful yet STILL I did not cave!No wine! Victory!

In addition to the pain the necks I deal with, my tooth has been bothering me pretty bad for the last week or so. My past dentist screwed up a crown job so now I have to go to a new dentist to correct his work. There is nothing I hate more. Luckily this new dentist is a friend from a private club we belong to so even if he hurts me I won’t be mad at him for it.

Because I didn’t have time to go to boot camp I decided to take my dog for a brisk nighttime walk downtown while my daughter was at dance. Mixing up workouts is good for when you want to get an extra one in but you are sort of sore or don’t have a lot of time.

Day #9 stats:

  • Breakfast: Scrambled eggs, coffee with half & half
  • Lunch: Mixed green salad with grilled chicken
  • Dinner: Grilled filet mignon with steamed broccoli
  • Workout: 30-minute walk downtown with my Sadie lady! (black lab)
  • Starting weight: 1×8 <– I have no idea…Max’s scale is stuck, or maybe I am
  • Lost 0 (?)  pounds
  • (?) to go
